Local Colwell Information

Beach Information

Colwell has flown the Seaside Award Flag since 1996 and displays a Water Quality award which it has won for a number of years.

The bay is also used by windsurfers, jet bikes and ski's which can be launched from Colwell Chine

Parking

is available either on the council car park towards the botton of the Colwell Chine Road. This car park does charge and a list of current charges can be found here. You can also park along the Colwell Chine Road and the Colwell Common. The car park and the Chine do get extremely busy during the peak holiday periods and can frequently be full by lunchtime on sunny August days.

Facilities

Toilets, and fresh drinking water are available by the car park on Colwell Chine

Shops

Captain's Cabin - Cafe, ice creams, and beach outlet close to the car park. Also sells a huge range of inflatables with the option of having them inflated for you.

Longbeach Bar - Just above the Captain's Cabin, has lovely views across the bay and the Solent. Open for non-residents of Longbeach. Also provides bar food during certain times of the day. Great authentic space invaders arcade game as well (20p ago!)

Beach Shop, sited at the very bottom of the slipway, sells ice creams, beach attire and inflatables whcih can also be inflated for you as well. You can also pick up your essential beach hut requirements including matches, milk, bread and newspapers.

Crusoes, cafe / restaurant sited right on the sea wall. At the bottom of the slip road, turn left along the front and you will find Crusoes. You can sit inside or if the weather is glorious there is plenty of outside seating.
